In August I celebrated nine years of self-employment. It has been nine years since I listened to my inner wisdom and made the leap from employment to working for myself. And it was a big leap. I was sick of redundancies and layoffs and wanted to take back control. As I reflected on those nine years, I realised that I've learnt a lot of confidence lessons that are worth sharing whether you have your own business, are considering self-employment or are happily employed.

I still had to get out of my comfort zone into the stretch zone, but these lessons stood me in good stead for a solid start to a new venture.
