My guest today is Wendy Cunningham Barnes. Wendy was born and raised in the city Chicago, IL. She is a successful entrepreneur, bestselling author, host of the WendyLyfe, radio talk cohost, ambassador, wife, and mother of three (Paige, Matthew and Christian). Wendy left Corporate America in 1995 to launch her own Mary Kay organization. She has a gift for inspiring women to believe in their own unique beauty. She also participates in several women’s networking groups. As an ambassador for the special-needs community, Wendy works to encourage the families of special needs children, and advocates for care giving professionals who support this community. Her advocacy for the disabled was born out her experience raising her own special needs children, daughter Paige (who passed in 2013) and son Christian. In this episode we discuss advocacy, the special needs community, the Paige Awards, The You Belong Foundation and being in and of service to others.

In this episode you will learn:

1. Why it's so important to be in and of service to others.

2. How you can start to advocate for the special needs community and help create inclusivity.

3. Ways to be a strong self-advocate or to advocate for others.

"To have an effect on people. To be able to take what I've learned in my life's journey, right? All of the pitfalls, the trips, the heartaches, and prayerfully keep someone else from having to go through that." - 00:04:47

"Any one of us could become disabled at any point. I had never thought about that. "- 00:20:39

"When you look in the mirror daily, you're not only looking at yourself, but you're looking at who the world has created in you." - 00:54:04

THE WORLD needs to hear your message and your story.

Don’t deny the world of that gift within you that the universe has gave to you.

Someone out there needs to hear your story because it will support them in feeling hope, inspired and even transformed.
