RV Campsite Cleanup Guide: Steps for After-Holiday Cleanup
· Preliminary Inspection and Safety Check:
- Inspect the campsite for any hazards or damage, including checking the condition of electrical hookups, water lines, and sewage connections.
- Ensure there are no hazardous materials or sharp objects left behind.
· Detailed Trash Collection:
- Use a large, sturdy trash bag or bin for collecting all litter, including small debris and food scraps.
- Sort recyclable items from general waste and ensure they are disposed of properly.
- Use a magnetic broom to pick up any small metal objects or nails that could be harmful.
· Deep Clean the RV Area:
- Sweep the campsite surface, including under and around the RV, to remove dust, dirt, and debris.
- Clean any RV exterior areas, such as the awning and slide-outs, to remove accumulated dirt and debris.
- Check and clean the RV’s holding tanks (freshwater, gray water, and black water) following proper disposal procedures.
· Thorough Cleaning of Campsite Amenities:
- Clean outdoor cooking equipment and utensils.
- Check and clean any outdoor lighting fixtures or electrical connections.

- Ensure all waste and recyclables are sorted and disposed of at appropriate facilities.
· Check and Maintain Campsite Equipment:
- Inspect and store camping equipment such as chairs, mats, and tarps properly.
- Ensure all equipment is clean and free from any signs of damage or wear.
· Inspect and Refresh Site Boundaries:
- Review and repair any site markers or boundaries if needed.
- Refill or replace any signage or informational placards that were used during the stay.
· Restore the Campsite to its Original State:
- Ensure that the campsite looks as it did before your arrival by removing all traces of your visit.
- Check for and remove any signs of your stay, such as fire pits, tent stakes, or temporary structures.
· Final Walkthrough:
- Perform a final inspection to ensure all areas are clean and nothing has been overlooked.
