The Last Leaf: A Stoic's Journey Through Autumn
The wind carries the scent of the forest through the window. Outside, leaves fall like memories, swirling softly to the ground. It’s autumn again. A season of endings and beginnings. A reminder that everything we hold onto must one day be let go.
Welcome to the Copinghagen Podcast, where we explore the quiet beauty of life through the lens of stoic philosophy. I’m Patrick Cullen, and today we’ll take a journey into the woods, where a single tree teaches us about the art of letting go, about the fragile balance between holding on and surrendering. So join me as we reflect on the wisdom of the Stoics, and on how to navigate the slow, inevitable changes of life.
The scientists had measured it. The speed of autumn. From the far north of Norway, as the golden leaves turned to amber, drifting south like a slow breath, the season fell towards the Mediterranean at just 4 kilometers an hour. A measured descent, like life itself, with a pace that seemed gentle, but was inevitable. Inescapable.
