The holidays can be a time of joy, celebration and a sharing of love and kindness. It can also be, however, a time of deep sadness for those who have suffered a great loss in their lives: a loved one, a divorce, or the diagnosis of an illness.
For those battling addiction, it can also be a period that poses great challenges. It is a time to dig down deep and set boundaries... a time to surround yourself with people who support you and who will love you for who you are.
Above all, the most important gift you will give this year is the gift you will give to yourself...the gift of self respect.
The holidays are always a very difficult time for me. It has taken me years and lessons learned through my work at Live and Grin and through the relationship shared with my beloved, dearest John, that I can face the holidays. Through my service to others it is I who receive the gift of hope this holiday season.
It is my wish that this episode may offer you counsel, comfort and love to meet you wherever you may be, and assist you in the days ahead.
Hugs,
Yvonne
