Marley E. Ganthier hails from Brooklyn, NY. She joined the Army as a Chemical Specialist in 1997. After One Stop Unit Training at Fort McClellan, AL, she served at Fort Lewis, WA. She reclassified there to a Paralegal Specialist in 2000. Her follow-on assignments include, Fort Riley, Kansas; Fort McPherson, GA; 5 Tours of duty to Kuwait, 2 to Iraq; and several other stops.
Awards include: Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal (4), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (4), Army Achievement Medal (2), Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Army Superior Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medal (8), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Volunteer Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Developmental Ribbon (3), and Army Service Ribbon.
She is the middle of 5 children to Max and Ghislaine Ganthier. She is a proud mother to her 23-year-old son, Nazir E. Thomas.
