This week we head to Paris to link with Gael “Gabbok” Bokongo, a Congolese-French Businessman and Family man who quit his job on Wall Street, started a media company and now travels the world with his 8 year old daughter Deïyna. Gael has been to over 108 countries and counting, traveling solo with his daughter on many of them. He talks to us about his journey from escaping war as a child, to a PhD in Mathematics, to Wall Street, and now raising a young woman as a digital nomad. He shares the story of his early life of travel (02:30), being a father-daughter duo traveling the world in search of adventure (13:35), his conflicted feelings on his home country DRC (25:55), quitting Wall Street to follow his travel passion (37:30), plus a discussion on improving the travel landscape for both Africans and Black people in the diaspora (46:10).
