75% of business owners were unsatisfied with how they exited their business after a year removed. And 5% were not happy with the payout.

The research project that revealed those numbers led to a body of work that identified specific drivers of a happy exit. One such driver is called "Future Vision"

Future Vision is defined this way:

Why do you want to exit your business? What do you plan to do after you leave your business? Many owners decide to sell because they need to retire or take care of their health. Those are valid reasons to exit, but they do not necessarily lead to a satisfying result.

The key to maximizing your score on this driver is to become clear on what you are excited to pursue after you leave your business. You should consider what you are most looking forward to regarding life after your business.

That's what my guest and I talked about in this episode.

Diana C. Stephens, PhD is a holistic coach and has an extensive corporate business background spanning more than 35 years in sales, marketing and SaaS consulting for Fortune 500 companies in software, consumer products and apparel.

Having been a casualty of 5 lay-offs over a 10-year period, she knows too well the life disruption caused by a job loss.

Diana helps us understand the better way to engage in vocational alignment through mindfulness and values clarification.

She is author of the Mission Matters book, Volume 10 Business Leaders Edition.
