Do people really live longer in 'Blue Zones'?

For years, so-called 'Blue Zones' have been promoted as having a higher than average number of long-lived people.
It was thought their lifestyles were behind their longevity. But upon further investigation, the whole notion of 'Blue Zones' has fallen apart.
The researcher responsible has won the first Ig Nobel prize for demography.
