In this episode we spoke with Dr. Eyal Zimlichman, MD, MSc (MHCM), Deputy Director General, Chief Medical Officer and Chief Innovation Officer at Sheba Medical Center (ARC). Dr. Zimlichman took us into the the light-speed innovation process we witnessed happening in his hospital this past year. He shared how he managed to acknowledge the looming crisis of COVID 19 very early on and how his mindset of always asking himself “what can we gain out of this?” has helped the medical community to not only cope with the pandemic but make leaps in treatment and technology. We spoke of innovation in “peace-time” and ARC’s partnership with other leading hospitals, specifically in Switzerland, but also of the “ARC COVID-19 Battle Mode” and its use of tools like hackathons to push the speed of innovation in a critical time. And of course we addressed the “Vaccine Miracle” happening in Israel, the reasons for it and the ways in which it is benefitting the international medical community.
