In a recent chat, Kelly caught up with Marcus Blunt, co-founder and CEO of Heidi, an online ski travel company based in Bristol that’s been making waves in the industry since launching in 2018. This year, they even made it onto The Times 100 list of fastest-growing companies in the UK.Marcus and his brother Alexander started Heidi to fix the headaches they faced when booking ski holidays, wanting to create an easier way for skiers to customise their trips.

Despite tough times during the pandemic, Heidi has really taken off, now generating £37 million a year and recently securing £5.6 million in funding. They focus on building a great company culture and hiring the right people, which has helped them navigate challenges.

Heidi stands out by offering flexible trip lengths and access to a variety of ski spots, including some hidden gems that offer better value. Marcus shared that many skiers are now looking for shorter trips, and Heidi makes that super easy. They even help with train bookings for a more sustainable and convenient travel option.

Marcus also gave us his tips for the best value destinations and resorts across Europe.

Looking ahead, Heidi is set to expand in the UK and explore new international opportunities. Their focus on flexibility and customer satisfaction shows they’re ready to shake up the ski travel scene. If you’re in travel and tourism, keep an eye on what Heidi does next!
