PCORI (Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute) has resources to help you find partners, but you can also work with advocacy organizations or through conversations with your patients. Recognize power differentials between the provider and patient and empower patients to join this work in a variety of ways. Engage your community partners throughout the entire research process by educating and training them, collaborating on every step from agenda to results, and compensate them like any other team member.
