This episode is an invitation to reflect on the shame that we as a society have put on menstruation and how we think and talk about it. Through August, Nadya encourages open conversations about periods and the importance of inclusivity and diversity in the menstrual health movement.

Libby and Nadya first went for a walk together when Nadya attended Harvard, where they discussed her nascent project that would eventually become August. Nadya and Libby discuss the prevalence of “period poverty” and how that particularly impacts young people all over the country who need better access to menstrual products.
