Parenting is always challenging, but the challenges reach new heights when you are parenting a child with special needs. In this episode, I had the pleasure of having Sandra Mame Opokuaah with me.
Sandra shared the experiences and challenges she faced raising a special needs child. She believes there is a purpose in God allowing her to parent her son. She shared how she discovered her purpose in supporting other parents in similar situations.
Sandra is the founder and CEO of jonnyandfriends4autism UK.
She is a radio presenter, speaker, activist, disability advisor, and many other interests which continue to form in helping to promote disability. She became passionately involved with helping the community on disability issues after her own experiences as a mother with a young man who has autism. Out of her own experiences, she also formed and found jonnyandfriends (NGO) in Ghana West Africa.
Sandra has five children and is a proud grandmother of two. She was initially a dental nurse for more than 25 years before and studied health promotion as well as public health masters,
