The Ice Skating Podcast is produced in conjunction with the ISU’s new monthly YouTube show, The #UpAgain Show, which brings inspiring interviews with skaters who have overcome adversity and risen to fight another day.
Each episode of the Podcast will also feature key moments of the interviews. The #UpAgain Show host Elma Smit dives deep into her guests’ stories and, for this edition, she is joined by a Speed Skating superstar. A seven-time World Allround champion. The most decorated Olympic Speed Skater of all time. The youngest winter Olympic gold medalist from the Netherlands, ever.
She is, of course, Ireen Wüst.
In what is a very emotional interview, Ireen reflects on some particularly challenging periods in her stellar career, and looks forward to competing at the Beijing 2022 Olympics.
