As an 11-year-old, Eva La Cúz dreamed of being a fashion designer and she sat drawing
sketches in a notebook in her home in Puerto Rico. Little did she know that in 2017, at age
57, after facing hurdles as a cancer survivor, a single mother of four and acclimating to life
in the United States, her fashion line for little girls would make its debut on the runway at
the New York Fashion Week, right beside dresses made by more established clothing
designers.
