Manage episode 320658319 series 2836290
The Institute for Rowing Leadership at Community Rowing, Inc. in Boston was founded to equip rowing coaches for excellence and leadership in coaching and in life. Today, we talk with CRI’s Senior Manager of Coaching Education, CB Sands-Bohrer, about the 2022 re-launch of this acclaimed program.
“Beyond the vast knowledge I gained in every aspect of rowing over my intensive year at the IRL; from rigging to recruiting, from programs to purchasing, from novices to nutrition, the greatest benefit above all others was the doors the IRL opened and contacts I was able to make. Being taught by, and being able to reach out to, National athletes, elite coaches and legends of the sport for advice & input on anything from boat repair to blade selection has been invaluable in my first season as a Rowing Director & Head Coach - a position I secured 3 days after graduating from the IRL." - IRL Fellow 2019The Advanced Certificate in Rowing Leadership is a 10-month, graduate-level fellowship program where fellows gain a broad rowing knowledge, and a substantial volume of experiential learning. Participants are guided by reflective practice and supported by Community Rowing’s extensive network of instructors and mentors. Graduates develop the wide array of skills needed to become successful leaders and coaches.
