This week on the High Wire Woman podcast, Rosanna Berardi is talking about effective communication with guest Jen Mueller. Jen is a keynote speaker and a sports journalist. Her on-camera and business communication expertise is even more relevant during this era of remote work. She joins Rosanna on this episode to talk about the importance of connecting and how to communicate authentically.

You'll hear Rosanna and Jen talk about:

  1. It’s important that we are connected when we communicate. It’s hard to build relationships by text messaging alone.
  2. “We need to get to a point where we are ... showing up in a way that allows others to see who we are and make that connection as easy and organic as possible,” Jen says.
  3. The types of conversation starters that Jen recommends.
  4. If we make it easy for people to talk to us, chances are that they will. This is the differentiator in business and in business relationships.
  5. The five steps to asking better questions.
  6. When asking focus questions, walk people through the conversation with you, and set them up to give you the perfect answer. That builds trust and rapport even if you're only going to ask them three questions.
  7. The way we communicate is not going to go back to the way it was pre-pandemic. We need to know how to communicate in a hybrid space, otherwise we’re going to miss substantial and organic conversations.
  8. A walkthrough of Jen’s Talk Sporty To Me website and how High Wire Women can get started.

We should think through the conversation, and not just simply our parts of the conversation and the message. We need to communicate.
