This week on the High Wire Woman podcast, Rosanna Berardi is talking about conscious living with guest Nika Lawrie. Nika is a Functional Nutrition and Lifestyle Practitioner, Conscious Living Advocate, and Founder and CEO of Health + Hustle, LLC and the Avapothecary. Nika counsels her clients on conscious living, maintaining a healthier lifestyle, and doing their part to keep the world healthy. She joins Rosanna on this episode to give tips on how High Wire Women can live healthily in the modern hustle world.

You'll hear Rosanna and Nika talk about:

  1. Conscious living is looking at how we can change our daily activities or behaviors to maintain a healthy lifestyle while also doing our part to keep the world healthy and combat climate change.
  2. Research shows that counting calories doesn’t work. What works is eating nutritious food and trying to lower your stress and anxiety. It is this research and evidence that contributed to the changes in the diet industry.
  3. We need to stop the negative self-talk when we’re going through difficult times. All this does is hold us back. We need to rework our mindsets to a more positive one.
  4. Traditions and community connections are important, and they contribute to a longer and healthier lifespan.
  5. It’s exhausting and overwhelming to think about having to make a healthy meal, or going to the gym, or getting up and exercising. We view it as one more thing we have to do. Nika implores us to change our priorities and to make the conscious decision to put our health first.
  6. How we only need to take 15-30 minutes out of our busy schedules to exercise and that will go a long way.
  7. Becoming a digital minimalist means putting our phones down and turning off all social media. Once we start removing these distractions we will realize how much more free time we’ll have to pay attention to the more important things in our lives, like our families and friends.
  8. What a consultation with Nika entails.

Our health is our wealth and we should make it our first priority. We need to remove the distractions and devote the time needed to take care of ourselves.
