If you’ve slipped on a goal or a promise you’ve made to yourself or someone you care about, don’t let that slip stop you.
The problem or change you’ve identified – taken the time to recognize and admit to yourself and maybe others that it’s time to amend – it’s not new. So you missed a day, or repeated the behavior, or acted in a way or responded to something you said you’d stop doing. Okay. That’s behind you now and you’ve got a chance to give it a quick review, be honest with yourself about the nature of the slip, and start again.
Conversely, if you’re still on track and achieving that goal for the new year or the month, good for you! Keep it up! Have you taken the time to review the changes that you’re seeing? Journaling in some fashion of tracking it in a way that delivers some satisfaction in the action? If you’ve been eating better and exercising, are you feeling better? Sleeping better? Making better choices in other areas? Make sure you take the time to recognize those things and help them motivate you, too.
