Cities@Tufts Lectures explores the impact of urban planning on our communities and the opportunities to design for greater equity and justice with professor Julian Agyeman and host Tom Llewellyn.

While most of us would assume that trees have always been an integral part of our Urban landscapes, that simply isn’t the case.

As it turns out, there is a long, controversial, history surrounding trees in our public spaces that is still being written today.

This week, Anne Beamish shares the history, cultural impact, and ongoing legacy of the introduction of trees in the cities of Boston and New York.
