E57 – Climbing Kilimanjaro to Kick Cancer's Butt with Tiffany Jones
Tiffany is the founder of Patchworks Inc, a Breast Cancer Survivor, High School Teacher and Adventurer. While feeling the pain of the loss of her parents to cancer she decided that she needed to do something big and audacious and set the goal of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa. Mount Kilimanjaro, the “Mountain of Greatness”, is the tallest freestanding mountain in the world. Nearly a third of all climbers fail to reach the summit. Before she set off on this journey, she found out that she had also contracted cancer and although this goal was already personal to her, it levelled up her determination to go on this trip to kick cancer’s butt.
In this episode we hear how Tiffany approached the goal with a series of small steps and that by having such a strong why, she was pulled through all of the doubt and obstacles surrounding the how. There are so many learnings and gold nuggets that Tiffany shares but the key learning that we can take from this episode is that sometimes things don’t go to plan and the pivot is usually the real gold that we can take from any experience we have. This is exactly what Tiffany experienced and shares this element with us, as well as the resulting not for profit that she established after returning from Africa.
If you would like to support Tiffany’s not for profit OR would like to join her on her next 10 day trip to Africa to share with her the 5 day service, 5 day safari experience, you can reach out using the links below.
