1. Continual joy
“I have told you these things so that you will be filled with My joy, and that your joy may be full.” John 15:11

• Get rid of sin
  

“Restore unto me the joy of my salvation” Psalm 51:12

• Walk in obedience

“God gives…joy to those who please Him.” Eccl 2:26

• Spend time with God

“in God’s presence there is fulness of joy” Ps. 16:11
“you have grief now; but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.” John 16:22
“Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.” John 16:24

• Walk in forgiveness

“filled with rage. Haman had learned of Mordecai’s nationality, so he decided it was not enough to lay hands on Mordecai alone. Instead, he looked for a way to destroy all the Jews”

2. Contagious joy

• Focus on Jesus

“Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the LORD! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation! The Lord God is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights.” Hab. 3:17 – 19

• Focus on the needs of others

“But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.” Acts 16:25

• Focus on the end

“fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, disregarding the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Heb. 12:2
