Repairs and maintenance are part and parcel of being a landlord - they’re not anyone’s favourite part of the job, but it makes financial (and ethical) sense to keep the property in good repair and the tenant happy.

Now, a change to the law means that it’s more important than ever: if a repair request isn’t adequately dealt with, it might be impossible to take back possession of the property for six months.
