This week Pr Joe is joined by Tom Helmich and Tevo Chrsitmann in debating the question of whether faith is a necessary component of a valid baptism. On the one hand, the Bible does not specify the timing or mode of Baptist, nor is it clear about the exact state of mind of one being baptized. On the other hand, baptism in Scripture is often linked with repentance, which necessitates active understanding. On the one hand, we partake in the sacraments out of obedience to Christ's command. On the other, we insist that we are saved through faith and not rituals. How do we reconcile these Scriptures and how do we dialogue between two different traditions?
