Jeff and Joey recap the first four games of the 2021-2022 season, where the Kraken stand within the Pacific Division, and provide an (entirely too early) outlook on the season based off of what they've seen from the team so far. Joey professes his love for Brandon Tanev before sharing a story about a weekend spent drinking vodka in New Orleans with 2x Stanley Cup Champion Dustin Penner which leads to them hypothesizing on why hockey players can put down more booze than the average human. Next, Jeff believes that opposing teams and fans will find ways to use Climate Pledge Arena as a way to knock the Seattle Kraken but is able to flip that around on them before Joey shares an idea for the home ice goal horn and song for the team that he came across on a Reddit message board. In Hockey History, Jeff shares the origins of The Legend of the Octopus and why throwing them on the ice in Detroit at Joe Louis Arena for Red Wings games when he was a kid was for good luck in the playoffs and how the Rat Trick in Florida for Panthers games came about. Last, Jeff explains to Joey the difference between a forecheck and a cross-check and how penalties are called differently in the NHL playoffs versus the regular season.
