Tom Withers has been the Associated Press sports writer in Cleveland, Ohio for the better part of three decades. He has scored numerous scoops and continues on a day-to-day basis as one of the most respected sports voices in the business. Before he became a full-time sports writer, Tom worked in what could be described as Ground Zero concerning the Aids epidemic in the late 1980s. How did that experience shape him?
