In this episode, I speak with Noir Lux Candle founder, Colina Bruce about growing up in Seattle's Central District, family, entrepreneurship, and her work at Seattle University. In addition to creating a line of beautiful handcrafted candles, Colina has worked in the education sector for over 15 years. It has been her life's work to advance equity and excellence for ALL scholars and families, specifically through finding ways to center scholar and family voices. Additionally, she has been invested in exploring ways to celebrate culture and build community.
When she's not working or in the kitchen being a candle scientist, you might find Colina supporting her hubby at a live music show, running around making moments and memories with her kids, eating any kind of seafood, brunching or happy hour-ing with her girls, teaching as an adjunct professor or at home with her family watching thriller movies or murder mysteries.
