Welcome to the Saving Throes podcast! This is my Tabletop role-playing game podcast, part of the Red Rooster's Gaming Coop network where I talk gaming and gaming culture every week. Each episode will feature a topic or theme along with my take on current happenings in the world of tabletop role-playing games and semi regular updates on the games I am currently involved with, or new games or products I have come across.
In this final week of indie RPG month, I am giving my verdict on this year's DCC Day offerings for 2024. I know you might be thinking DCC isn't a "proper" indie RPG, but for my purposes, I consider it to be in the same vein. Primarily a game that doesn't often get as much recognition as it should in the shadow of Wizards of the Coast and Paizo. Goodman Games does a lot to celebrate the hobby and support the community and this year they not only brought out a few great 1st party DCC products, but also included some great 3rd part stuff as well! That is, if your store opted to get one of the "critical" kits they offered. Nonetheless, this was a great move and it is great to see Goodman Games continuing to experiment with their offerings for this annual event.
