Creating your own podcast cover art is something that can be forgotten about and something that pops up after you've recored and edit and ready to share your podcast with the world. Then you hit a wall, because you may get rejected from podcast hosts and you're now delayed to meet the deadline you set to releasing your episodes. In this episode, I share how you can create your own podcast cover art and important things to remember so you can smoothly upoad your art to your hosts with ease. 1. Using Canva Canva is the new and modern way to design graphics. Even if you're not a graphic designer and don't have an artistic side (just like me), Canva will provide the dimensions for whatever you're designing. Search 'Podcast Cover' in canva to see all the templates. You can then make the changes to suit your own cover. Download your design and you're on your way. Depending on what design you're going for the paid version will allow you so many more options, like removing a background. Nut the free version will also get you by. Canva 2. Using online designers/artists. Fivver, 99 designs You will need to pay a designer on one of these platforms so make sure you have your idea of what you want as clear as possible. If you're wanting to make changes to your design, be prepared to pay a bit more for 3. Ask a friend. Asking a friend with creative flare to design your logo would be a cheaper. You can return the favour with them being interviewed on your podcast or continuing to work in the background on your podcast art, or hoowever you'd like to pay them back for their time. 4. Try it yourself. Trying it yourself is great as you have all the control, buuutt it can be time consuming and decision fatigue sets in with the many rabbit holes you could head down, as the design combinations with colours, fonts and picture placement can leave you overwhelmed. But if you're confident to do it yourself, hec! go for it!!!! Things to remember when creating your podcast cover. 3000 x 3000 pixels Have clear writing You're working with a small tile, so make sure to keep the graphics as clear as possible. Here are some podcasts with clear art to inspire you. The Daily (New York Times) Simple but effective by Oprah Branding colours: coolors.co
