As always, we’re winding the week down with a fresh podcast to discuss all things Edmonton Oilers and get you set for your weekend. Today, we were thrilled to welcome Inside Sports host Reid Wilkins to the podcast to help us get set for next week's pre-season Battle of Alberta that's coming up on Tuesday, as well as a look at what's been going on at training camp.

To kick off today's podcast, we jumped in with a look at Leon Draisaitl being nominated for the Hart Trophy this past week and whether or not he has a legitimate shot at winning. Seeing as the nominees are the same as they are for the Ted Lindsay Award, it's going to be interesting to see how or if the opinion differs between an award voted on by the players as opposed to the media. Changing gears, we looked at the drive-in/beer garden watch party area that will be set up downtown for the playoffs. Obviously, we don't know all of the details regarding how this will be set up, but we had a quick discussion about if this is a good or bad idea. With the nonsense out of the way, we were very happy to welcome Reid Wilkins, host of Inside Sports on 630 CHED, to the podcast to give us his thoughts on the Oilers' postseason. Opening up the interview, Reid gave us his thoughts on what to expect from the Battle of Alberta exhibition game that's scheduled for Tuesday night and whether or not he thinks February's fire will carry over to this tune-up game. We also discussed what it's been like to be back at Rogers Place for training camp, and what the vibe is like around the building given the strange circumstances the league is playing under. Looking at the players, we got Reid's take on Philip Broberg's emergence and how he's really turned some heads in terms of where he's at on the depth chart. All-in-all, it was another Oilers-packed podcast as we look to continue our ascent from being the 199th ranked sports on Apple Podcasts.
