Karl Graves - Graves Motorsport Team Owner - Mairon Freight UK TOCA Junior Championship
Manage episode 435747756 series 2870884
Graves Motorsport have become the first team to enter the Mairon Freight UK TOCA Junior Championship, announcing their plans to run four cars for the inaugural 2025 season.
Following the ground-breaking launch of the Chevron B1417 last week, the Colchester-based team will expand its operation into junior racing next year - with discussions having already started taking place with prospective drivers.
Established in 2015, the squad has enjoyed a rapid rise through the racing ranks to establish itself as one of the most prolific teams on the support bill of the British Touring Car Championship in recent years.
During their near decade-long history, the team has achieved unprecedented success in ultra-competitive categories such as the MINI CHALLENGE JCW, MINI CHALLENGE Trophy, Porsche Sprint Challenge Great Britain and most recently the Clio Cup Great Britain Championship.
Now looking to utilise their vast race and title-winning experience, and having been a popular springboard for young drivers in the past, the team is eager to make its mark in the UK’s newest one-make junior series.
“We’re very pleased to be announced as the first TOCA Junior team,” said Karl Graves, Graves Motorsport Team Owner. “We’ve been looking for a junior championship to compete in for a while now and TOCA Juniors has arrived at the perfect time.
“As a team, drivers will be able to have their first car racing experience with Graves Motorsport and then have the opportunity to continue with us onto the Porsche Motorsport pyramid and then hopefully on into the BTCC or GTs.
“Conversations are already taking place with drivers and we welcome contact from any other drivers and their families. We’re looking forward to receiving our first car and then getting out on track to begin testing.”
Driver announcements for Graves Motorsport will be made in due course.
