Today, in this episode, I, Candace Nass, a physical therapist, wellness coach, and mother of six, dive into the power of gratitude and fostering loving relationships. As we approach the end of March and the first quarter of the year, it's a perfect time for reflection and cultivating a mindset of thankfulness. I challenge you, on this thankful Thursday, to ponder and appreciate what you are grateful for over the week, month, and year so far. In our previous discussion, we explored avoiding the four Cs - comparing, competing, complaining, and criticizing - as detrimental to nurturing loving relationships. Building on that, I emphasize the significance of focusing on what to do rather than what not to do. One key principle I embrace is the notion that merely saying "don't" can inadvertently draw attention to the very thing we seek to avoid. Inspired by a conversation with a friend who embodies calmness, compassion, and curiosity in all her interactions, I introduce the concept of the three Cs as pillars for establishing and strengthening relationships with ourselves, others, and a higher power. The trio of calmness, compassion, and curiosity resonates deeply as fundamental elements for fostering understanding, empathy, and meaningful connections amidst conflicts and challenges. Navigating conflicts with a composed demeanor, a compassionate mindset, and a curious approach lays the groundwork for genuine, constructive conversations that transcend discord and lead to deeper bonds. By embracing the three Cs - remaining calm, being compassionate, and staying curious - we pave the way for harmonious, enriching interactions that honor the complexities of our relationships. As we embark on this journey of prioritizing the three Cs and shunning the harmful four Cs, I encourage you to engage with these principles actively. Experiment with embodying calmness, compassion, and curiosity in your relationships, and observe how these qualities can transform interactions and cultivate love and understanding. Remember, conflict may be inevitable, but contention is a choice we can transcend through the power of the three Cs. Thank you for joining me on this quest for building loving relationships rooted in calmness, compassion, and curiosity.
