Manage episode 457845194 series 3030156
We will spend this Advent season studying the book of Malachi. Through Malachi, the Lord reproves and pursues his people - calling them to remember his covenant, seek him genuinely, and prepare for his coming. This week we look to Malachi 3:6-12.
“Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:21
We should give proportionally.
On the first day of every week, each of you is to put something aside and store it up, as he may prosper… 1 Corinthians 16:2
We should give sacrificially.
…for in a severe test of affliction, their abundance of joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in a wealth of generosity on their part. 2 Corinthians 8:2
We should give cheerfully.
Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7
We should give locally.
Let the one who is taught the word share all good things with the one who teaches. Galatians 6:6
We should give generously.
They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share… 1 Timothy 6:18
For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich. 2 Corinthians 8:9
