“We are back in the studio for a couple of weeks. The journey has been enlightening, encouraging, enraging, and entropic. One thing for certain, it’s not yet over. Why? Because this season is endemic to the human experience. Leadership is neither oasis, nor utopia from reality although it may seem as a mirage to be. Life moves on at its own uncontrollable and unpredictable pace. People set expectations for you and make demands of you regardless your level of success, accomplishment or failure. Their demands are their own, your inability to meet them will not be tolerated. Daring to ignore them, dismiss them, deprioritize these demands will be your failure of moral character in their eyes. Here’s your best hope, even if they pay you, they don’t own you, you are free to deal with your own life, your own crisis, your own well being and get back to them when you are available to perform at your best level of excellence. The world won’t wait, but you can miss a lap if you must. I give you permission to breath.”
