James Rust is a founder of The Pay Index – a startup which has spun off Leathwaite, focused on careers and pay data. Prior to Leathwaite, James spent two years with Armstrong International with the remit to build a search business focused on finance and operations within investment banking and asset management. Before this he spent five years working in recruitment, successfully building a similarly aligned team, eventually numbering 30, at Robert Walters.
In this episode, James joins the show to talk about gender and ethnic pay gaps, the impact of misaligned values with clients, recruiting for conflicting personalities, and apprenticeships versus degrees.
