Episode 9 of KING Talks is live! Adam, Chris & Cliff are back at you with another installment of Table Talks. This week we're addressing our last episode Rev. Conrad Tillard Sr., formerly a member of the Nation of Islam and the current host of Conversations with Conrad on WCHR NYC. There was so much to get into that we split this Table Talk into two parts! Part 1 turned into a fascinating discussion about the factors that led to the rise and 'fall' of the Nation of Islam and the social dynamics that made the organization so attractive to men of color. KING Founder/President Chris Broussard lays out a very strong case for the positive and negative lessons that Christians of all ethnic and social backgrounds should learn from the NOI's time of prominence in America.

Show Highlights:

2:00 - Cliff reppin' Detroit the wrong way

3:00 - What can the Church learn from the NOI's ability to attract black men in the 1960's and 1990's?

3:40 - Cliff's Take

8:00 - Chris's Take

11:00 - The 3 Major Aspects of Manhood: Provide, Protect, and Position and why this played a pivotal role in the NOI's influence.

15:30 - Does NOI teach Black History or Black Mythology?

17:45 - White Supremacist influences in NOI teaching

21:00 - Colorism in the life of Fard & Elijah Muhammad

28:00 - Discussion about the image and substance of the nations

35:00 - Flaws of the NOI worldview

36:00 - How the NOI lives on and continues to influence culture and the positive attributes of the NOI that are safe to embrace.

39:00 - How the KING Movement help fill in the gap.

40:00 - Misconceptions about MLK: MLK vs. Malcolm

42:30 - Lack of appreciation for different leadership styles and how Jesus's example teaches us how to embrace fearless protest and patient service.
