“From tech and even outside of tech every job should be data-driven. You’re not going to go to your boss without having any type of data to come up with recommendations. Also, you need to be able to correlate your value. You’d better be able to correlate your KPIs and your metrics, whether that’s qualitative or quantitative, to show the performance of your own job. So it kind of goes outside of IT. You can’t manage what you can’t measure.
