In Jonah 4:4-11, God questions Jonah’s anger over the death of a plant that had provided him shade, contrasting it with Jonah's indifference to the fate of the people of Nineveh. God points out that Jonah cared more for the plant, which he didn’t create, than for the 120,000 people of Nineveh, whom God had compassion for.
