Ambarella (NASDAQ: AMBA), an edge AI semiconductor company, has announced that its Oculii AI 4D imaging radar technology is now in the 2023-2024 Lotus Eletre electric hyper-SUV and the 2024 Lotus Emeya hyper-GT.
These vehicles feature L2+ semi-autonomous systems, including highway navigation on autopilot (NOA) and automatic emergency braking (AEB), supported by the radar's ultra-long detection range of over 300 meters for enhanced safety.
The Oculii radar offers ultra-fine angular resolution of one degree using six transmit and eight receive antennas per radar module, doubling the resolution of competitors with the same antenna count. This allows precise object detection at both close range in urban settings and long range at high speeds. Additionally, Ambarella’s AI algorithms reduce power consumption and complexity while maximizing performance.
Fermi Wang, president and CEO of Ambarella stated: “The performance that Lotus has achieved using our Oculii 4D imaging radar technology provides evidence for the real-world benefits of our AI innovations.”
Ambarella’s products are used in a wide variety of human vision and edge AI applications, including video security, advanced driver assistance systems, autonomous driving and robotics applications.
