Dr Linda Bello - a personal and touching story of struggles to success
Manage episode 413488120 series 3490584
In Episode 8 of the Struggles to Success Podcast, Dr Linda Bello, experienced family physician and current Chair of the Cameroon Doctors Association UK, shares her personal and touching journey.
Despite having excellent "A" level results from Cameroon, Dr Bello had to resit the "A" levels exam in the UK while working as a care assistant. She also had her son while in medical school and used it to improve her results and academic performance.
Dr Bello emphasizes the importance of being flexible and knowing when to change - she switched from anesthesia to family medicine because it was more family-friendly. Her struggles have built her resilience and her positive mindset has created opportunities. Dr Bello's path to difficulty led to something positive, as being a family doctor helped save her mother's life by allowing her to spend more time with her and make an early diagnosis of cancer leading to treatment.
