Ctrl Alt WoW Episode 816 - Christmas
Grand Nagus:
Path of Exile 2:
Early access has started.
Likely going to last between 6-12 months.
Access to Early Access will cost you $30.
You can buy Supporter Packs that include Early Access access.
Those are packs of cosmetic content that is usable for both versions of Path of Exile, though not all of it will be available for both, like lore related content for PoE2 is obviously not accessible / usable in PoE1.
All the items you buy in PoE1 carry over to PoE2, like cosmetic skins (other than the ones that are not available in PoE2 like spell skins of spells that are not in PoE2) and stash tabs. All of that is available for you to use once you start playing PoE2 right away.
Content that is not unlocked yet in PoE2, you have to wait for it to be unlocked to use the related cosmetics.
I really like the game, although it’s more difficult at the start, so I had to farm some items and abilities to be able to beat some of the bosses. I like challenging content, but sometimes I think it’s a little too tough. But then, once I defeat a boss, it’s ok, it’s all about the challenge, and being able to just one-shot the bosses isn’t fun either.
Final Fantasy XIV:
Starlight Celebration, the in game Christmas event, is upon us.
Along with it, we get a Twitch collaboration to earn yourself a ingame mount if you gift a sub, or sub yourself, three times within the event period, the event duration is the same as the collaboration timeframe.
I really look forward to this event, since it’s the first one, since I started playing, that we get housing items that I really like to use in my house / apartment.
I like the theme surrounding the ‘Kinderpunsch’ items, and, as you can see from looking at the event banner in the show notes, it looks like there is heavy involvement of children this year.
I’ve heard people say that they can’t use housing items, because they don’t have a house, but, let me tell you, if you are kind of new to the game, or never really knew this about housing, there are two other options besides owning your own plot of land, aka having a house in game, that you can utilize to have your little home away from home.
- An apartment - Each housing ward has one, technically two, if you count the sub-division too, apartment buildings where you can rent / buy, there is no such thing as renting in FFXIV, your own apartment, so it’s more of a condo. It will cost you 500,000 gil, it is one room, AND it has the big advantage, that it is NOT affected by the demolition rule, so it’s a permanent place for you to call home. It has a maximum item count of 100, so not too much, but it’s way better than nothing.
- A FC room - Almost the same as an apartment, but you are tied to your FC for better or worse. Since it’s a non-permanent place, for the FC ties and all that, its cost is ‘only’ 300,000 gil. In every other way the FC room is identical to the apartment.
You can own both an apartment and a FC room, if you want, they are not mutually exclusive.
A couple of pictures from my apartment to show you what’s possible, and i’m by no means great at using space, i just do stuff like i want it, and execute the ideas i have and find elsewhere, so others are even better at decorating than i am, specially small spaces.
A picture of my Lalafell alt.

They finally fixed a lot of the problems that co-op was having. There will be some people who won’t appreciate the fix, but it made me feel better.
The infinite harvestable glitch made everything much easier. I could just take wheat over to my windmill and said it to constantly grind flour and then sell a stack of the flour for almost 3000 gold.
Zenith
Blade to 62 all gear to 60 and both Legendary weapons to 65 because I actually got to join a group to take down the big boss. this actually took some doing because not too many people are still playing and the ball still playing not too many are doing the in content. It actually took me three tries to get in a group because it’s a group of eight and the first time I tried I was on the bench. The second time I actually got there late cause I forgot about the time, but the third time was a charm and even though on the third game, I got kicked out. I still manage to get enough of the marks of dreads to upgrade my second legendary weapon to 65. I had been going in occasionally to grind for the mats to create the radiant crest, which was the other part of the upgrade.
Sail
I also tried a game called Sail which is an open world where you can play with other people and actually got into a game with some kids. And while they were semi annoying, they were actually very helpful.
