Why do I feel like a fake?
These kinds of feelings are shared. They affect 70% of us at some point in our lives. When these feelings of doubt are persistent and pervasive, they could signify a condition called impostor syndrome. It's also known as the impostor phenomenon, fraud syndrome, perceived fraudulence, or impostor experience.
"Hello and welcome to the Coffee & Hustle podcast; this episode discusses "The Impostor Phenomenon."
Everyone will feel like an imposter at some point in their lives.
I'm Carla with Designedbycarla, and joining this podcast discussion is Michelle Nash, the Director Of Organizational and People Development.
In today's topic, we are discussing. Imposter Syndrome
Imposter syndrome is the experience of feeling like a phony—you feel as though at any moment you are going to be found out as a fraud—like you don't belong where you are, and you only got there through dumb luck.
Imposter syndrome, also called perceived fraudulence, involves feelings of self-doubt and personal incompetence that persist despite your education, experience, and accomplishments. To counter these feelings, you might work harder and hold yourself to higher standards.
Some of the questions that we discussed in the Coffee & Hustle Podcast:
The Impostor Syndrome - How to Identify and Deal with it!
Part 1: What is the Impostor Syndrome?
Part 2: The Causes of the Impostor Syndrome
Part 3: How to Identify an Impostor Syndrome Victim & What They Feel
Part 4: Dealing with Impostor Syndrome
