Today I’m starting a series on change. I have several points I want to bring. I’m not sure how many I will end up recording but I will definitely let you know when I plan on wrapping up the series. I just feel its too important to just bring the points in one shortened podcast episode. I’m aiming for 3-4 but I will definitely keep you posted when I plan on wrapping this series up.

Quote of the week:

The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.”

Steve Jobs

Points covered:

Change, no one likes it. Even I don’t like it. When I resigned from my job, and I will be explaining this in detail in one of the points so you can also learn form my painful lesson, the sudden change after almost 27 years was a shock to say the least! Change can be gradual or unexpected. As humans, we are creatures of habit, and we can stay comfortable for the most part without any change.

Here are the points I will be covering briefly today as an introduction and deeper in the points that time will allow:

1. Change happens- there is no way around this

2. Anticipate the change-don’t be surprised when the change does come

3. Monitor the change- this is what is often referred to as, and I also call, “the writing on the wall. This is also where I will explain in detail what happened at my last career

4. Adapt to change- the sooner you are able to adjust to your new environment, the better. Perhaps even see quicker results that you are seeking.

5. Change- when it comes do not resists it, move long with it.

6. Enjoy change! And the rewards that it will bring as well!

7. Get used to change because it will often happen again and again, within reason of course.

If any of these points sound familiar to you it’s because the concept is based on the book titled Who Moved my Cheese. I’m not going to be recording this podcast reading word for word what the book says, I will be diving into the concepts behind it bringing some in-depth exploration to each point.

1. Change happens- there is no way around this. Without change life will be boring. Without change there would be no progress. Change is the way of life keeping us on our toes.

2. Anticipate the change-don’t be surprised when the change does come. To not be ready for change is to really set yourself up for ultimate failure.

3. Monitor the change- this is what is often referred to as, and I also call, “the writing on the wall. This is also where I will explain in detail what happened at my last career.

Make sure you give this episode a listen for all the details involving change and how you too can navigate through it.

Did anything resonate with you? Do you want to explore deeper how I can help you with this topic? If so, reach out to me and let me know. Simply send me an email to edwin@edwinsoler.com and let me know what your question is and how we can connect.

I always offer a free coaching session where we can explore how I can help you and you can see coaching action for yourself.

If this was your first time, I’m glad you’re listening and I hope you can come back for more podcast episodes and feel free to listen to all the previous ones I have. I can’t wait to be here with you next week but until then keep closing that 18-inch gap!
