Expand Your Hospitality

Many Christians believe that hospitality is a gift. And while that may be partially true, it doesn't mean those of us who don't embody this gift get off the hook! In Jesus' time of ministry His "home" was whatever town the Father sent Him. He relied on the hospitality of others. He challenged the boundaries of the "social norms" and sought those on the outskirts of society to go into their homes and fellowship with them! When no one else wanted to associate with the tax collectors or prostitutes, Jesus found them and asked them to invite Him in. It says in Mark 2:17, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” This wasn't just an invitation to eat and fellowship, it was an invitation to be loved. An opportunity to see what His love can do! His love can change our hearts. It can heal our hearts. Listen to this incredibly challenging teaching with an open heart and ask yourself, "How can I be hospitable to those who do not know the magnitude of His love for them?"
