Carolina gave up 5 goals in the 2nd period and went on to lose to the Avalanche 6-4 in Denver. The Canes winning streak ends at 8 straight. The Hurricanes had a 2-0 lead on the strength of goals from Jack Drury and Jordan Martinook, but Cale Makar's second period shorthanded goal ignited a 5-goal outburst.
