On this episode of Breakfast of Choices, I have Guest, KJ Johnson, on the podcast today to share his incredible story of personal growth and mental health recovery. KJ opened up about growing up privileged but losing it all after experiencing a sudden brain aneurysm and stroke that required extensive rehab. He detailed his journey of relearning basic skills like walking and talking after brain surgery and struggles with returning to work too soon in his recovery.
KJ got real about hitting rock bottom with depression and suicidal thoughts, but finding the strength to ask loved ones for help during those dark times. It was powerful to hear how he overcame blaming others for his problems and learned to take responsibility for his own mental well-being and actions through counseling.
KJ's message of hope will inspire you as he discusses his ongoing recovery work including therapy, support groups, accountability partners, and personal growth. This episode’s key takeaway is the importance of kindness, respect, and progress over perfection. I'm grateful KJ was willing to be so vulnerable in sharing his story to help others in similar situations.

From Rock Bottom to Rock Solid.
