When we attempt to “do as Christ has done to us,” one of the hardest is in extending forgiveness in the same fashion as Jesus. Believers have no option but to forgive as Christ forgave; he made it clear that if we desire to be forgiven, we must, in turn, forgive (Matt. 6:14–15).
