Do you ever consider the one-on-one encounters Jesus had with people in the Gospels? How did each of those encounters affect the people involved and beyond? We know from each of these accounts no one met Jesus and went away unchanged. Everyone He touched, talked to, or delivered was drastically changed.
These events speak to us today because we still need to encounter Jesus on a regular basis. When we come to know Him, we surrender our will and submit to His authority. He causes our hearts to soften; our lives will never be the same once we've seen Him.
Today's encounter is the first in a series of podcasts. Here we are unpacking the meeting Jesus has with the woman with the issue of blood (from Mark 5:24-34). We don't the woman's name and we don't know too much about her story besides the fact that the Bible says she has suffered for 12 long years. Her medical condition was nothing that doctors could solve; in fact, she only got worse. It isn't until she encounters Jesus and touches His robe that she is made well. This story is worth retelling and revisiting. In so doing, we must ask: is our faith like this woman's?
