If you don’t know who Dolores Huerta is yet, get ready to meet one of the most important activists in American history. Dolores has been organizing, rallying, and changing policy for workers’ rights and racial justice for over 70 years. In this grand finale of our "Meet the MAYtriarchy" special series, we chat with the living legend herself, and her youngest daughter, Camila Chávez, because Dolores didn’t just mother a movement, she also mothered 11 children at the same time. .·:*'`*:·..·:*'`*:·.·:*'`*:·..·:*'`*:·.·:*'`*:·. Dolores Huerta was an equal partner in co-founding the first farm workers unions with Cesar Chávez. Tirelessly leading the fight for racial and labor justice, Huerta evolved into one of the most defiant feminists of the 20th century — and she continues the fight to this day, at 88. From her early years with the United Farm Workers to her work with the headline-making grape boycott launched in 1965 to her role in the feminist movement of the '70s, to her continued work as a fearless activist. Camila Chávez is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Dolores Huerta Foundation (DHF). From the DHF headquarters in Bakersfield, Ms. Chávez oversees training for low-income community members in the areas of leadership and organizing skills specific to civic and electoral participation so that they can become catalysts for change in their own communities. .·:*'`*:·..·:*'`*:·.·:*'`*:·..·:*'`*:·.·:*'`*:·.
